About the project

CHdata makes the public core data of the Swiss commercial register easy to search: every active legal entity with UID, legal form, registered seat and domicile address — organised by canton, city, industry and legal form.

Data source

The data comes from the Central Business Name Index (Zefix) of the Federal Commercial Registry Office (FCRO) and is obtained as Open Government Data via the Swiss Confederation's Linked Data service LINDAS (legal basis: Art. 14 para. 2 HRegV). It is updated daily.

Industry classification

The commercial register does not maintain industry codes. Our industry pages are based on automatic classification using the company name and — where available — the corporate purpose. They are a guide, not an official classification.

All information without warranty. Only extracts certified by the competent cantonal commercial register office and publications in the Swiss Official Gazette of Commerce (SOGC) are legally authoritative.

Contact data & leads

The commercial register contains no email addresses or phone numbers. Enriched contact data for Swiss companies is provided by our partner DataSend.ai.
